Senate Confirms Prison Guards Contract

The Sacramento Bee reported today that the California State Senate ratified the contract for over 30,000 Correctional Officers.  This puts to an end the long struggle with Arnold's hatred of the men and women who work in the nations largest prison system.  At a time when all government agencies are dealing with record cuts, the prison guards struggled over 5 years without a contract.  Although the leaders of the California Correctional Peace Officers Association are satisfied with the deal, they still created a long term hardship for their members.  After years of furloughs, that proved ineffective, and a complete alienation by the state government, the members of CCPOA have a chance to ratify something that as alluded them for many years, a contract.
